Monthly Photo- 10 months

Unfortunately my commitment to taking and sharing monthly photos of Harper is yet another thing that has faltered. I am taking photos of her but as you may also know, the camera isn't at the ready with no 2 like it was with no 1. Nevertheless, look how gorgeous she is at 10 months!! She continues to be a delight and keeps me on my toes, literally. I can't sit down for five minutes this last week as she is mastering the 'I can stand on my own' thing. She gets up on the side of the couch, stairs, bed but then has no where to go so we have had a few backward tumbles.

I arranged to have some professional pics of the girls taken last week and this is one of them. Both girls were patient and gave plenty of smiles for the camera. Now to get some into frames and on the walls.

5 months

Harper's fifth month:
  • Rolling over from back to tummy- no stopping her now!
  • Lots of dribbling, the teeth are on their way
  • Plenty of smiles, giggles and baby talk

4 months

Harper's fourth month milestones:

Giggling ~ she giggles when kissed on the chin
Hair pulling ~ improved hand/eye coordination and grip means all hair must remain tied up!
Sleeping through the night ~ she has slept from 7.30pm til 6.30am 3 nights in the last week- massive woo hoo and happy dance!!
Name recognition ~ she will respond (by turning her head) to the person calling her name
Sitting forward ~ no longer content to chill out in the swing, she leans forward so as to not miss out on the conversation.
Don't you just love chubby thighs?!

Not the most natural of smiles from Michaela but she was trying......

3 months

Harper is 3 months old today. She continues to be an absolute joy- she smiles constantly, 'talks' to her sister and is starting to put hands/ bibs/ whatever-is-in- reach into her mouth! The only 'issue' is that she possets/vomits regularly; her clothes and bibs are soaked and nappy changing is a juggle between nappies, wipes and tissues. But none of that matters when she's this cute!

Harper Rose Lindsay O'Brien 7/7/11

It has been a while since I have had the time (and energy!) to write a post and all because of this little gorgeous, cuddly, smiley creature.

Harper arrived 4 days before her due date on Thursday 7th July at 12.25pm. She weighed 7 pound 8 ounces/ 3.42kg and measured 51 cms. The labour went smoothly and quickly, which is apparently the way my body likes it- get it over and done with fast! We have both had a few hiccups since she arrived but we are now doing well and enjoying getting to know one another. It has certainly been a whole new adjustment this time round. I'd forgotten how much extra washing one little person can create and how getting to a certain place by a certain time requires A LOT of logistical planning. Michaela is enjoying being a big sister and seeing her change in these last few weeks has been really lovely.

At the 12 week mark, Harper is now starting to settle into a semi-predictable routine which will hopefully allow me to get back into some sewing and blogging. I hope to share the final nursery pics soon as well as a few crafty creations. I went to a friend's baby shower last weekend and managed to make her one of these. I forgot to take a photo of him but he turned out very nicely and was a quick project I'd been meaning to do for a while.

I really like the monthly baby photos done by this and this blog and will be doing the same for Harper. Here she is at 2 months; slightly stunned but still cute! She is sitting next to an adorable bear that my parents gave her which is personalised with her name and date of birth. They can be ordered here.
